We meet once a month on the third Wednesday of each month, September through June (except December) at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Bellevue. Our dinner meeting features a speaker of topical interest for administrative professionals and a tasty buffet meal.  Our programs for the year are sure to capture your interests.

Join us to begin receiving the many benefits of IAAP!   We will help direct you to the achievement credentials of being a Certified Administrative Professional (CAP).  Please be sure to see the article here for information about our meeting and how to sign up to attend. During December we meet on the second Wednesday for our annual fundraising auction and dinner.

Program:  How to Stay Cool When Things Heat Up

Presented by
Jan McLaughlin, CSP

Jan M. McLaughlin, CSP is an expert in communication—spoken, written and visual. She helps professionals discover how to positively influence the responses they receive. You’ll enjoy her delivery style—which interjects humor and invites audience participation—in programs loaded with practical information.
A graduate of Washington State University, Jan had been a teacher, retail manager and actress in television commercials when she established the image consulting firm, J'Ambry.

Referred to in the Seattle Times as a "pioneer in the image industry" and "the most frequently-quoted image professional in the Northwest," she was a popular guest on television and radio and in demand as a speaker.

At the urging of clients, she expanded her focus. To complete the transition, Jan joined the most-respected public seminar company. As a highly-rated trainer, she toured the United States, Canada, Ireland, Scotland and England conducting communication skills seminars.

Today she is the owner of Your Communication Connection and is a popular coach, speaker and trainer in the areas of impression management, communication, customer service and presentation skills.

Jan has earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation—the speaking profession’s international measure of speaking experience and skill. Fewer than 10% of the 5,200 members of the Global Federation of Speakers earn this designation.
