"Power Writing"

Recertification Topics to be included:  Communications, Document Production


Need a brush up on your writing skills?  Need to produce more effective writing? 

Come and re-learn the basics of business writing. Program will cover the top six most common writing errors, as well as: focusing on your audience, quick punctuation brush up, eliminating bloated writing, frequently confused words, and tips for spelling and proofing your work. 

Email writing is just as important for being a power communicator so we’ll also cover techniques for online writing. Whether you write for your job, for your own business, or your volunteer life, this session will improve your how you communicate in writing

We will have time for brief questions and answers

Bio:

Leslie Adkins, CAP-OM is Executive Assistant to the VP of Elastic Cloud Computing in AWS at  Amazon. In her “other” life, she is a freelance writer and writing instructor.  She teaches beginning writing and grammar classes at local community colleges and is a regular speaker at several Pacific Northwest writers’ conferences.

Leslie has been a member of IAAP since 2005 and is currently the IAAP Everett Chapter VP and WA-AK Division Summit Committee Chair.
